An Amusing ‘Ivorex’ Plaque by Arthur Osborne

The scene depicting an ‘Extraordinary Fox Chase by the Duke of Beaufort’s Hounds at Upper Castle Coombe – January 1794’ in which a pack of hounds has invaded a cottage and run to earth a fox in a crib to the horror of the cottager who narrowly saves her baby, the plaque signed ‘AO’. The plaque deeply-recessed and mounted within dark brown velvet, decoratively framed and glazed. Approx. 12 in. by 16 in. Late 19th. century
